The weirdest fragrances you will ever hear about
Each of us has their own favourite fragrance. Obviously, we are led by our individual sensations that our nose enables us to feel. This never is (and shouldn’t be) an objective choice, unless this is some special edition of perfumes launched for charitable purpose. Anyway, this is a completely different purpose and has little in common with our taste.
Most of us reach either for delicate, flowery fragrances, or fresh and citrus aromas. When we have some big night-out, we tend to apply more intensive aromas. For that reason, the most common notes we can find in fragrances are flowers, fruit and spices. The aim of fragrances’ is to stimulate our senses and release defined, pleasant sensations not only in the wearer’s, but also in the people surrounding the person.
The creators of fragrances try to outrun one another in designing new, more out-of-the-ordinary and unusual aromas. It’s worth mentioning that developing a new fragrance is an art, no doubt about this. Taking into consideration the fragrances that happen to be created by the artists, it’s easy to classify this work as a clearly avant-garde one.
Here is the list of the weirdest fragrances ever made:
1. Eau de MacBook – fragrances that smell like MacBook
This is the aroma combining a few notes: glue, aluminium, rubber and paper. It’s aim is to imitate the smell of just bought, unpacked laptop. This, of course, is supposed to trigger excitation.
2. Play-Doh Perfume – fragrances that smell like Play-Doh modelling compound
Ok, nobody is surprised with the commercial success of perfumes that carry labels of popular cartoons and animated motion pictures. But fragrances smelling like kid’s modelling compound is rather dubious.
3. Comme des Garcons Garage – fragrances that smell like garage
Probably women won’t comprehend the core and pleasure of smelling this kind of aroma. Fortunately, there are guys who would appreciate the smell of a car, padding, grease and gasoline combined.
4. Pizza Hut Perfume – fragrances that smell like pizza
These perfumes is a real treat for the connoisseurs and the unique cosmetic lovers. It’s said to be one of the most difficult fragrances to get in the world! The daylight was seen only by 72 phials of fragrances smelling like this Italian dish.
5. Paper Passion by Karl Lagerfeld – fragrances that smell like ageing paper
A book in a bottle? Why not? Karl Langferd created the aroma of literature. According to him, literature smells like ink, paper and glue. Who knows, maybe in the era of digitalization a book will go out of date and it will be known only thanks to Langefeld. However, I believe wholeheartedly that it won’t ever happen.
6. Histoires de Parfumes Petroleum – fragrances that smell like crude oil
Their originator was Gerald Ghislain. This idea corresponds with his view concerning nature. Namely, Ghislain claimed that petroleum is one of the most precious gifts that the human race has been ever given.
7. Demeter New Baby, Demeter Funeral – fragrances that smell like birth and death
These are two phials and two fragrances launched under one brand. It can be said that they represent a kind of the life circle – birth and death. The first smells like a new-born and the second resembles flowery aroma of a funeral home.
If none of the above-mentioned fragrances sounds appealing to you, here’s good news – the list of quirky fragrances is almost endless! If you feel like, you can buy perfumes that smell like money, crabs, shamrock, rain, blood and even… blue cheese.
