Thermal spring water and mists – History
Since time immemorial people went to nursing homes, SPA or some abroad health improving units where they could be treated with thermal spring water to heal up many ailments. Today, the most popular place, which take advantage of hydrotherapy, is Avene – a small town located in France. This is the very place where one of the most recognisable cosmetic products are manufactured. These beauty products contain thermal water which has regenerative and moisturising features. However, with time it turned out that this substance isn’t enough to treat skin. Hence, this is how mists came into existence.
How does a mist work?
Mists you buy contain water, glycerine, anti-oxygenating substances, UV filters, vitamins and microelements. Thanks to these substances, skin remains moisturised, soothed and freshened-up. Some mists fix make-up creating a protective layer on skin surface. Thanks to mists, colour cosmetics hold on face even up to 12 hours.
How to use mists?
We distinguish two types of mists: moisturising and make-up fixing. The first kind of mists has to be stored in a fridge thanks to which you can provide your skin with relief and refreshment during a hot day. Basically, you need to spray your face keeping the bottle with mist in 20 cm from your skin. When it comes to fixers, the distance must be longer – approximately 30 cm from a face covered with make-up. After a few minutes your make-up is protected and skin moisturised.
