DIY manicure. How do I paint my nails during summer?

Hello Girls!

There’s nothing better to top up your summer look than applying colourful manicure. I paint my nails with such colours which match my holiday outfit and make-up. In most cases, I use three or four nail polishes, but sometimes I add some funny stickers as well. Today, I’ll show you a simple way to paint your nails.

Get your nails ready

Cutting, filing and polishing are the very basic activities that you must start your manicure with. Use clippers and file (best if made of glass) and shape your nails the way you want them to be. I always go for round and semi-round shape because only in this way I can create the impression as if my short and thick fingernails were more slender. Next, I use a wooden cuticle stick. I cut them out only when the cuticles are really long and look ugly. After that, I reach for a buffer to smooth the fingernail plate. Finally, I degrease the nails using an acetone-free nail polish remover and proceed with the nail painting.

Summer manicure

Lately, I was wearing a white dress and I was testing a waterproof eye pencil by Clarins, its shade is turquoise. Let me describe you how I managed to apply manicure of similar shades. I started with applying a transparent base coat which makes a nail polish sit longer on the fingernails and protect them against discolorations. I used a nail polish of pale blue shade. I applied just one layer because I wanted to obtain fairly delicate effect. Then, I attached semi-round manicure stripes. I coated the tips of my fingernails with dark blue nail polish, and added silver and white glitter. I also attached the stripes to the upper part of the finger plates. I coated the spot between the stipes with a white nail polish, which brightened up the entire manicure. Finally, I applied a top coat featuring vitamins.

My favourite nail polishes

In my opinion, the most durable and simply the best nail polishes are the ones produced by Inglot. This brand has so many colours that it’s really hard to make up one’s mind to choose the shade. The second place I grand to Semilac and Sally Hansen nail polishes. To decorate my nails I use the cheapest cubic zirconia, stickers and trinkets. In most cases, just the regular accessories turn out to be the best ones, or simply enough. I also have a nail technician set for the beginners that consists of tweezers, dotting pen and the templates to decorate the nails.
